I am a professional recorder maker and recorder player. Since 1987 I’ve been making my instruments after historical recorders from museums and private collections. Over the years, my recorders have found their way to many regular and leading players around the world. Often players have more than one instrument made by me.
On the About Me page, you will find more about my background.
With the old instrument as a starting point, I approach the making of my instruments from the practical point of view, taking into account what it takes to perform early music in the 21st century. In doing so, I aim to make an instrument that is as flexible as possible within its own charming limits.
I offer a wide range of models and a choice of many types of wood.
An important aspect of my work is the post-purchase service. This is included in the purchase price for an indefinite period of time, in the case of normal use and normal maintenance by the player.
My workshop is located in the center of The Hague, The Netherlands. By appointment, you are of course very welcome to try my instruments and ask as many questions as you need
